Volunteer Spotlight

Grace Overton & Donna Ford

Grace Overton (left) and Donna Ford (right) are our wonderful volunteer Spotlights for May!

Grace started in February 2021 as one of the packers of the snack bags, but then transitioned to doing spoons for the snack bags at home. She recruited her friend Donna to help her. They are averaging 1000 wrapped spoons every other week, delivering them to the Pantry and picking up supplies to wrap more. In March, Grace fell and broke her arm, but Donna took over and is still doing them until Grace gets better.

Grace took the initiative to contact her church, Advent Episcopal, and Reverend Timothy Donbeck to see if they would like to be a church sponsor. They are now a church sponsor. Thank you, Grace!

Working behind the scenes is a great way to help the Pantry. Grace and Donna are great and loyal volunteers! Thank you so much, Grace and Donna, for all your hard work!

Becky & Keith Dorn

Meet Becky and Keith Dorn. They have been with HART Pantry for about a year now and are a very important part of helping to feed homeless teens. They come to the Pantry every Thursday, and Keith pulls supplies for the weekly food bags. Becky is the head of the snack table and counts snack bags and puts them into totes for all of the schools. They deliver bags to at least 2 schools most weeks. Becky and Keith always wear a smile and are willing to help wherever needed. Thank you, Becky and Keith, for all you do!

Jerry Bonaguidi

The HART Pantry is so fortunate to have so many amazing volunteers who Donate Locally their time each week to help at-risk teens right here in the West Valley. We would like to take a moment to thank Jerry Bonaguidi, one of our drivers who deliver to Glendale High School every week. He is so dependable, hardworking, always smiling, and willing to do whatever is needed. THANK YOU, Jerry, for being a wonderful volunteer at the HART Pantry!
