To Whom it my concern,
As a valued partner of the HART Pantry, we want to let you know that our Board o Directors has decided that the HART Pantry will cease our services to local high schools at the end of the 2026-2027 school year.
The HART Pantry has had the privilege of helping to provide food security and other resources to West Valley teens for the last 14 years. We are proud of what the Pantry has been able to accomplish in that time and we appreciate your support.
We are well-funded through generous donations and community grants. We will be providing all of our traditional food bags and other services throughout the 2026-2027 school year, including our Christmas, graduation and bicycle programs.
Unfortunately, we do not have the human capital to keep operating the Pantry beyond the 2026-2027 school year and the Pantry will cease all operations after May 2027.
At this time, the HART Pantry has sufficient cash reserves to fund all of our operations for the 2026-2027 school year.
If you wish to donate to the Pantry this year, you may do so and you will be entitled to a tax-deduction for your donation. However, we want to advise you that we will be donating our cash reserves to another Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3) charitable organization after we cease services. The Pantry's Board of Directors will determine which charitable organization(s) will receive donations from the Pantry. In all likelihood, we will not spend your donation this year and you may wish to select another worthy recipient for your donation.
Sincerely,
Ruth Langford
